SERVIETTEN SONNENBLUMEN KUNSTHANDWERK AUS ITALIEN
Carpegna-Manufaktur’s napkins have always been handcrafted using the herringbone weaving technique. Both the workmanship and the appearance of the products are inspired by the design of the 19th century, the hand printing on the outer edge.
Due to the manual production are small irregularities? small differences in size and position of the print? proof of the authenticity of each napkin.
The creases caused by folding the napkin in the packaging disappear after the first ironing. The fabric does not shrink even after numerous washes.
Beschreibung
The manual printing technique used by William Morris in the years 1850-1870 using a printing template was almost completely replaced by digital and screen printing. We managed to find a small, distant place in Italy (near Pesaro) where the napkins are still made according to the original principles of the Arts & Crafts artistic movement.
